The project EV Pro Earth has often been overlooked. Relatively inexpensive, it was viewed by many as unattractive and industrial.

However, if you look under the surface, it is packed with technology and all for a very competitive price.

The latest model has had a facelift and now has a trendy black finish. It’s the only charge point in our range that comes with a 5-year warranty as standard.

The Pro Earth has everything that it’s more expensive competitors can offer such as PEN Fault Detection, Solar Integration, Load Balancing, Charge Scheduling and is controlled by an easy-to-use App.

Connection is by home Wi-Fi and if that is unstable the Pro Earth has an ethernet connection for hard wiring.  This is something that even premium brands don’t offer, and if they do it’s an optional extra that comes at additional cost.

The standard unit is available untethered only, so you will need your own lead, but you may get that free with your EV. A cable lock system is provided for peace of mind.

Some useful variants are available to the standard unit. If an internet connection is unavailable, you can choose a unit with a built in SIM to communicate with the servers using the mobile phone network.  There is also RFID capability available for charge points that are shared.

These options make the Project EV suitable for small, shared accommodation situations.  For example, where the landlords supply is used to power the units but there is no landlord’s internet facility.

Using the Project EV back office will give landlords and property managers even more options. Multiple RFID charge points can be installed at a site with billing of individual users taken care of remotely.
